    • 3 Stars* I received this book through a giveaway*Lazarus Walker has done everything possible to distance himself from his former life as a rocker in a heavy metal band. Unfortunately that old chaotic life seems to catch up to him every once in awhile. When a young girl shows up at his isolated home he assumes that she’s just another fan who won’t take no for an answer, but Kitty Van Winkle is not a fan and has a vindictive plan to ruin his new quiet life. This is a very quick read and could [...]

    • This was a fun story. "Bone Orchard" is a thriller about a crazed fan showing up at the English manor of a washed up rock star. It is a quick and entertaining read (only 160 pages according to my Kindle). The language is flowery, but endearingly so. The story based off of a screenplay, and though it would make a decent B horror movie, the turns of phrase are really what made me like the book, so a lot would be lost on the screen. I also found myself switching allegiances between characters multip [...]

    • I was really impressed by this story. I even hesitate to call it a book - it was so short. But it packs a huge punch for its size. I picked it up for free on a lark, and by the time I got around to reading it I couldn't remember what it was about I was actually thinking it was a ghost story and kept waiting for the bumps in the night and so forth. What I got completely surprised me.Without going in to too much detail, I'll just note that if you shy away from gore you will probably have issues wi [...]

    • A friend got this on a free giveaway. (I never win those). I was given this to read. She thought I might like it.But would not tell me anything about it.Well, I am not really going to say anything about it either. All I can say, its a great short read. Twisted. It goes in directions that you just don't see coming. To say anymore will just ruin the story. If you come along this books path, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

    • Lot's of twists and turns in this one. Boy did I get a couple surprises too! It definitely kept me guessing on who the "murderer" was. A bit far fetched in realistic terms. But psychosis is that way isn't it? ;) It was a fun quick read for me. Almost read it all in one sitting. I usually don't have that kind of time but it kept me guessing and riveted enough to keep turning the pages.

    • The type of women Lazarus liked were dark, mysterious, and damaged. And for his tastes he gets a little BSM with ropes and other such implements of distress. Bone Orchard is creepy, dark, and mysterious. A perfect book for someone who is damaged, or who likes damage. Being a little of all, I loved this book. The title is wonderful. It is quite evocative as is much of the writing in Bone Orchard.

    • Wow. I'd recently seen This Must Be The Place (movie) and so when the story sets up to feature a retired rock star etc I got it into it easily But boy did it take a left turn. Then sideways Once the action starts, it doesn't let up til the end. Not really my genre but I enjoyed the ride!

    • Gripping, grisly story with more twists and turns than a maze. I would have given more stars had it not been for the jarring mistakes the editor missed, one of which being the priceless "A rock flew threw the air".

    • Short read. I liked it. Most stories like this are predictable, but this one kept me guessing at every turn. Sometimes, you have to call a spade a spade. But sometimes that spade will surprise you. :)

    • The first three and a half chapters are details about the main character and where he lives, and I ALMOST quit reading it. It gets better, and there is a few twists to the story, so I'm not sure if I wasted my time or not. I know I was glad when it was over!

    • Surprising Plot TwistsThis is a story of a stalker of a rock star, but she isn't just looking for an autograph! But there are a couple of plot twists that I didn't see coming. Not a bad read.

    • This was a free FirstReads book.Great book. Not sure how to review it without spoiling it. Suffice it to say that if you like Stephen King and his psychological thillers, you'll love this. Started it and couldn't put it down until I finished it.

    • I was not expecting this to be a short story but I enjoyed it. I wanted more back story and a bit more explanation but it was well written and kept my interest the whole time.

    • I was really bored with it until about Chapter 13. I mean, the twist was good, but it was overall pretty predictable. Which was a shame because it had some really nice, evocative imagery.

    • Disturbing mystery with surprising twist. Story too light in some areas, fight sequences drag out too long, but I thought a pretty good suspense.
