    • This book is kind of mysterious, because it talks about a girl and a boy which I forgot they're names. But anyway they both pass through a gate and something weird happens. It's like everything changes. And they're trying to figure out what's going on.

    • If I weren't going to use some of the info from this novel as part of the dissertation, there is NO WAY that I would have finished it. Blech.Julie and Aisling. zzzzzThree queens who are one. zzzzzReferences to Irish myth that are so heavy handed that they can't be missed.Yeah. IF I use this text, it will be an example of weakness, not strength.

    • Not bad, probably more 3.5 stars but not quite 4 for me. Took a while to get going but after it started this tale of a Dublin lying alongside the Dublin that is, called Three Castles, a magical place with three queens who rule but one of them has disrupted the flow of things and the city is dying.Full of beings and twists and turns this is possibly a good start to a series, it does stand alone but there are implications of consequences for the characters that might prove interesting later in the [...]

    • I really wanted to like this because it's a fantasy, with a lesbian teenager but I couldn't because is the most boring thing ever. The two main characters have so little personality that I forgot who was who, the fantasy world so unoriginal and so packed with details that were meant to be profound but ended up being preachy that it made me wish for Tolkien's trees. In summary so boring I stopped reading 80 pages from the end.

    • This is a pretty good debut, it uses a lot of classic fantasy tropes and has a great underlying love story - a welcome change from the girl-boy-boy love triangle so often seen in teen fiction at the moment. I liked it and it was a pretty good page turner, for my full review please go to tangerine92.tumblr/post/75

    • Dublin-based fantasy that keeps you reading. It's sort of a teenage Neverwhere, with aspects of Alice in WOnderland thrown in. It's funny and moving and exciting and I don't think I've read another YA book quite like it.

    • My goodness I loved this book. Full review to follow on Writing (when I write it) but there is so much going for this modern urban fantasy set in Dublin, with shades of Alice in Wonderland and a wonderful love story between the two girls. Fresh, intelligent and a page turner.

    • I just couldn't get into it I read it to the end but if there is a sequel I won't be in a rush to go out and buy it
